Breeders’ Cup Announces Board of Directors Updates

In a significant move within the horse racing industry, the Breeders’ Cup has released updates regarding its board of directors. According to the latest news, the organization has re-elected two existing members and welcomed a new director to its esteemed board.

Fred Hertrich III of Watercress Farm and Clem Murphy of Coolmore Stud have been re-elected to the Breeders’ Cup board, each securing a four-year term. Joining them is the newly elected Tom Ryan of SF Racing, who will also serve a four-year stint on the board.

The Breeders’ Cup world championships, featuring 14 Grade 1 races with over $34 million in purses and awards, are set to take place on November 1-2, 2024, at the renowned Del Mar racetrack in California. The prestigious event will return to Del Mar the following year, with the 2025 Breeders’ Cup scheduled for October 31 – November 1.
