Thrilling Showdown at the Queen Anne Stakes
In the latest edition of the prestigious Queen Anne Stakes, a thrilling showdown is set to unfold at the renowned Royal Ascot meeting.
Audience, the impressive winner of the Group 1 Lockinge Stakes last month, will be the one to watch as he seeks to continue his remarkable run of form. The four-year-old colt ended his three-year-old season with a dominant handicap victory and has taken the step up to Group-level racing in his stride, scoring at Newmarket last summer and maintaining his form until a low-key final effort.
However, Audience may face a stiff challenge from the highly consistent and destructive Big Rock, who clinched a thrilling all-the-way victory in the QEII over this course and distance in October. Despite an early stumble in the Lockinge comeback, Big Rock could leave that effort well behind and emerge victorious, provided the ground conditions are not too lively.
Another contender to keep an eye on is Charyn, who has impressed with improved performances at Doncaster, Sandown, and Newbury this season. Handling softer ground well, Charyn looks to be a solid option and could run into a place following his excellent second to Audience in the Lockinge.
The French challengers, Facteur Cheval and Dolayli, also deserve attention. Facteur Cheval has built a strong CV at a mile and nine furlongs, with impressive Group 1 form figures since last May, while Dolayli is a race-fit and consistent performer who came close to a top-class triumph at Longchamp last time.
