Exciting Results from the 2024 Fasig-Tipton New York-bred Yearling Sale

The opening day of the 2024 Fasig-Tipton New York-bred Yearling Sale was marked by strong demand, with the first session’s offerings averaging over $100,000 and a decrease in the reserve-not-attained rate.

The top price of the session was shared by two colts. A Constitution colt (Hip 315), consigned by ELiTE and sold for $300,000 to West Bloodstock, agent for Repole Stable, caught the attention of buyers. This dark bay or brown colt is out of the winning Forestry mare See the Forest, who has already produced seven winners, including stakes winners Whittington Park, Critical Value, and Looms Boldly.

Matching the top price was a Vekoma colt (Hip 386), consigned by Taylor Made Sales Agency and purchased for $300,000 by C. Clement, agent. This chestnut colt is out of the Shackleford mare Alana’s Allure, whose first foal to race is multiple stakes winner Allure of Money.

Rounding out the top five were a Not This Time colt (Hip 328) sold for $250,000 to DJ Stable, a Gun Runner colt (Hip 337) sold for $250,000 to Gatsas Stable, and a Maclean’s Music filly (Hip 373) sold for $230,000 to RT Racing.

During the first session, 66 yearlings were sold for a total of $6,860,000, up 14% from the 2023 opening session when 53 yearlings sold for $5,999,000. The session average was $103,939, and the median was $89,000. Notably, the reserve-not-attained rate decreased to 24%.

“Enthusiasts of horse racing will be closely following the remaining sessions of the 2024 Fasig-Tipton New York-bred Yearling Sale, as the industry eagerly anticipates the emergence of the next generation of top-performing racehorses.”
