Trainer Owen Burrows is eager to test Raqiya at the Group Three level and has set his sights on the upcoming William Hill Summer Stakes at York’s Knavesmire on July 12th. Burrows expressed his disappointment at not finding a suitable race for the filly during the recent Royal Ascot meeting, but he is confident that the York fixture will provide the perfect stage for her next challenge.

In addition to Raqiya’s upcoming appearance, Burrows’ stable is also keeping a close eye on Anmaat, the six-year-old gelding who won the prestigious Prix d’Ispahan at ParisLongchamp over a year ago. The trainer is aiming to reintroduce Anmaat to the racing scene, with the Sky Bet York Stakes on July 27th being the primary target. However, Burrows acknowledged the need to carefully manage the gelding’s fitness, leaving the option open for the Rose of Lancaster Stakes a few weeks later if the horse is not quite ready for the York assignment.
