Ethan Brown Shines at Flemington with Winning Treble

Flemington Racecourse, Melbourne (June 10, 2023) – It was a day to remember for young jockey Ethan Brown as he guided his mounts to a stunning treble at the iconic Flemington Racecourse on Saturday.

The 25-year-old hoop had a remarkable outing, securing victories aboard Berkshire Breeze, Jenni’s Meadow, and Steel Run, cementing his status as a rising star in the Australian horse racing scene.

Berkshire Breeze Impresses

Berkshire Breeze, an import who has now won three consecutive races in effortless style, was Brown’s first winner of the day, with the young jockey commenting, “I wanted to see him do it again today and he certainly done it, so I think he’s cemented himself as a spring horse off the back of that.” The Grey gelding is now a $15 chance in the upcoming Melbourne Cup betting.

Jenni’s Meadow Secures Black Type Win

Brown then followed up with a win aboard Jenni’s Meadow in the $175,000 Listed Taj Rossi Series Final, giving him his first Black Type win of the day. The mare relished the step up to 1600 meters, defeating Lindsay Park stablemate Sneaky Sunrise.

Steel Run Triumphs in Mahogany Challenge

The final leg of Brown’s treble came in the $200,000 Mahogany Challenge Final (2500m) for three-year-olds, where he guided the lightly-raced Real Steel gelding, Steel Run, to victory for his former master, trainer Mick Kent.

“It’s certainly a thing I don’t do week in, week out but I had a handful of good rides today and I thought I’d put in the extra effort, so I’m glad it’s paid dividends.”

Despite the disappointment of an unplaced finish aboard short-priced favorite Pharari in the $175,000 Listed Creswick Sprint Series Final (1200m), Brown was delighted with his overall performance.

The young jockey’s impressive display at Flemington has undoubtedly turned heads and has him firmly in the spotlight as the Spring Carnival approaches. With his natural talent and determination, Ethan Brown is undoubtedly a name to watch in the world of Australian horse racing.
