Greetings, horse racing enthusiasts!

In a move that has the industry buzzing, the champion 3-year-old filly of 2023, Pretty Mischievous, has been retired by her owner-breeder Godolphin.

On August 22, 2024, Godolphin announced the retirement of the Grade 1 Kentucky Oaks winner through a video posted on their official X platform. The video showed Pretty Mischievous arriving at Godolphin’s Gainsborough Farm, where she will embark on the next chapter of her journey โ€“ motherhood.

Pretty Mischievous, a 4-year-old daughter of the esteemed sire Into Mischief out of the Grade 1-winning Tapit mare Pretty City Dancer, had a remarkable career. She found her stride as a sophomore in 2023, winning four races out of six starts, including the prestigious Rachel Alexandra (G2), Kentucky Oaks, Acorn (G1), and Test (G1).

“Although she was expected to cap off her 3-year-old season in the Breeders’ Cup Distaff, the filly was unfortunately scratched a day before the race after her trainer, Brendan Walsh, discovered that she was not feeling 100 percent.”

In her 4-year-old campaign, Pretty Mischievous finished third in the La Troienne (G1) and Ogden Phipps (G1) before ending her career with a fifth-place finish in the Clement L. Hirsch (G1) at Del Mar on August 3.

With a remarkable 13: 7-2-3 record and $2,112,560 in career earnings, Pretty Mischievous retires as a true champion, leaving an indelible mark on the sport of horse racing. The racing community eagerly anticipates her next chapter as she joins Godolphin’s prestigious broodmare division at Gainsborough Farm.
