Exciting News in the World of Horse Racing

The prestigious 54th annual Eclipse Awards are set to return to the Breakers Palm Beach in Florida on Thursday, January 23rd. This prestigious event, jointly organized by the National Thoroughbred Racing Association (NTRA), Daily Racing Form, and the National Turf Writers and Broadcasters, will honor the human and equine champions of the 2024 racing season.

“We are thrilled to be returning to the Breakers Palm Beach for our third year in a row,” expressed NTRA president and CEO Tom Rooney. “Celebrating the success of racing’s human and equine champions is the highlight of the year, and the Breakers is the perfect venue to bring the industry together to do just that.”

The Eclipse Awards ceremony will take place two days before the highly anticipated Pegasus World Cup, scheduled for January 25th at Gulfstream Park. Tickets for the black-tie Eclipse Awards event will go on sale starting Monday, November 18th.

The Eclipse Awards are named after the legendary 18th-century racehorse and foundation sire Eclipse, who remains undefeated in his 18 starts, including eight walkovers, after beginning his racing career at the age of 5. The awards are voted on by the National Turf Writers and Broadcasters, Daily Racing Form, NTRA member racing officials, and Equibase field personnel.

This year’s Eclipse Awards promise to be a thrilling celebration of the sport’s top performers, showcasing the exceptional talent and achievements that have captivated racing enthusiasts throughout the 2024 season.
