Thrilling Horse Racing News: Cliff Brown Readies Little Miss Kubi for Group 3 Sir John Monash Stakes
(June 30, 2023 – Caulfield, AUS) Renowned Trainer Cliff Brown believes he has found a capable replacement for his original runner in the upcoming Group 3 Sir John Monash Stakes (1100m) at Caulfield Racecourse this Saturday.
After La Danseuse Rogue, Brown’s initial choice, encountered some barrier issues during a recent jump-out at Sandown, the trainer has decided to shift his focus to Little Miss Kubi as the new contender for the lucrative 1100m event.
“She’s now at Julien Welsh’s having barrier education,” Brown said of La Danseuse Rogue. “She trialled at Sandown but missed the start by 10 lengths after playing up, so I thought I’d send her to Julien to straighten her out.”
With La Danseuse Rogue sidelined, Brown is confident that Little Miss Kubi can step up and deliver a strong performance in the Sir John Monash Stakes. The mare recently impressed with a jump-out victory at Sandown on June 26, showcasing her readiness for the challenge.
“If you forgive the Flemington run where she pulled-up with a heap of mucus, her form is good,” Brown said. “She’s had a jump-out since then at Sandown, which she won, and this race has come around at the right time.”
Little Miss Kubi is no stranger to success, having previously claimed a Stakes victory over Group 1 Oakleigh Plate winner Queman in a Listed race in Adelaide last year. Brown has called upon the services of talented jockey Thomas Stockdale to guide the mare on Saturday.
“He hasn’t ridden her, but I don’t think that matters,” Brown said. “He’s riding really well which is important, but the barrier is a bit of a worry.”
With La Danseuse Rogue sidelined, all eyes will be on Little Miss Kubi as she aims to deliver a winning performance for Trainer Cliff Brown in the highly anticipated Group 3 Sir John Monash Stakes this weekend at Caulfield.
