Didia, the Argentina-Bred Mare, Shines in Keeneland Workout Ahead of Anticipated Races
Didia, the talented 6-year-old mare who captured her first Grade 1 stakes victory in last year’s New York, is back in training and looking sharp at Keeneland. On Tuesday morning, the Argentina-bred worked four furlongs in a brisk 49.4 seconds, the 35th fastest of 66 recorded works at that distance.
Didia, trained by Ignacio Correas IV, began her racing career in Argentina before transitioning to the United States in 2022. She quickly made her mark, winning five of her first six U.S. starts, including a second-place finish in the 2023 New York Stakes. After a disappointing 10th-place showing in the Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf, Didia opened 2024 with a victory in the Pegasus World Cup Filly & Mare Turf (G2) and followed that up with a third-place finish in the Jenny Wiley (G1) in April before her dominant New York Stakes triumph.
“Didia’s recent workout at Keeneland suggests she is in excellent form and ready to take on the top fillies and mares in the upcoming graded stakes races.”
Horse racing enthusiasts will be eagerly anticipating her next start, as the talented mare looks to build on her impressive resume.
In addition to Didia, several other graded stakes winners were spotted with published workouts on Tuesday, including Far Bridge, Master Piece, Evvie Jets, Foggy Night, Masen, and Ridin With Biden. These horses, trained by the likes of Christophe Clement, Rick Dutrow, Mertkan Kantarmaci, Butch Reid, and Chad Brown, are all gearing up for their next stakes challenges.
As the horse racing season heats up, be sure to stay tuned to Horse Racing News for the latest updates on Didia, her stablemates, and all the top contenders in the graded stakes races. With so much talent on display, the upcoming months promise to be an exciting time for fans of the sport.
