Exciting Horse Racing News: Classic Winner Fallen Angel Acquired by Wathnan Racing
In a major move within the horse racing community, the classic-winning filly Fallen Angel has been purchased by Wathnan Racing for an undisclosed fee. The three-year-old mare, trained by the renowned Karl Burke, has already made a significant mark on the sport with her impressive victories.
Fallen Angel burst onto the scene as a juvenile, securing a prestigious Group One triumph in the Moyglare Stud Stakes. She then added to her accolades by winning the coveted Irish 1,000 Guineas at the Curragh back in May, cementing her status as a true classic champion.
The talented filly was initially set to contest the prestigious Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot, but a setback prevented her from lining up for the June highlight. However, her absence from the racetrack has only heightened the anticipation for her return, which is now scheduled for the Matron Stakes next month.
Fallen Angel, bred by Steve Parkin’s Branton Court Stud, has raced in the colors of Parkin’s Clipper Logistics operation. However, she will now don the iconic old gold and peacock blue silks of Wathnan Racing, a move that has the racing community buzzing with excitement.
“She’s a tremendous athlete, already a dual Group One winner, and we’re very excited to see what she can do in the months and seasons ahead.” – Richard Brown, the racing advisor to Wathnan
This latest move by Wathnan Racing comes on the heels of their recent success at Royal Ascot, where they celebrated victories with Leovanni in the Queen Mary Stakes and Shareholder in the Norfolk Stakes. The addition of Fallen Angel to their stable promises to further strengthen their position in the sport.
As the anticipation builds for Fallen Angel’s return to the racetrack, horse racing enthusiasts eagerly await to witness the next chapter in the story of this exceptional filly.
