Horse Racing News: Dwyer Set to Rack Up the Miles in 2024 Racing Season

Prominent horse racing trainer Henry Dwyer has recently discovered the benefits of frequent flyer programs, and he’s poised to make the most of them in the upcoming 2024 racing season.

After a successful outing at Royal Ascot, Dwyer plans to take his talented horse Asfoora to the prestigious Goodwood and York races in August. This could potentially lead to even more international competitions, with the possibility of races in France and the United States.

“I didn’t actually know frequent flyer points existed until about three weeks ago,” Dwyer admitted with a laugh. However, with the help of his assistant trainer Simon Morrish, the trainer has already started to claim his accumulated points and is anticipating some valuable upgrades in the near future.

Asfoora, who emerged unscathed from the Royal Ascot event, is now targeted for the Group 2 King George Stakes at Goodwood on August 2nd and the prestigious Group 1 Nunthorpe Stakes at York on August 24th. The flat track at York is seen as the best opportunity for the horse to secure a coveted Group 1 victory.

Following a successful campaign in the UK, Dwyer has his sights set on the Breeders’ Cup Turf in November and a potential race on Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe day. Depending on Asfoora’s condition, the journey may also include a stop at the Prix de l’Abbaye in France before the team returns home.

Dwyer’s journey to maximizing his frequent flyer points is an exciting new chapter in his career, and it’s clear that he’s determined to make the most of every opportunity to showcase his stable’s talent on the global stage.
