Exciting Horse Racing News: Snowden Considers Interstate Trip for Promising Filly I Found You
Trainer Peter Snowden is weighing his options for the talented filly I Found You, a half-sister to prominent stallions Deep Field and Shooting To Win. The two-year-old has been accepted for races at both Randwick and Flemington this Saturday, leaving Snowden with a crucial decision to make.
I Found You, by leading sire I Am Invincible, made an impressive debut earlier this month, romping to a 3-1/2 length victory at Randwick’s Kensington track. Snowden was delighted with the filly’s performance, describing her as a “present under the Christmas tree” that he had been eagerly anticipating.
Options and Considerations
The Petaluma Handicap (1100m) at Randwick and the Next Generation Sprinters Series Final (1200m) at Flemington are the two options on the table for I Found You this weekend. Snowden is keen to take the filly to Melbourne for the experience and to assess her potential for the spring, but he also acknowledges the need to select the most suitable race for a win.
“I’d love to take her to Melbourne for the experience, but I want to win too,” Snowden said. “I’ll just try to pick the best race for her, hopefully it is Melbourne. I’d love to get her down the straight and give her a look at that to see how she went going forward into the spring.”
However, the trainer also noted that if the Melbourne race proves too tough, he may opt for the “easier” option of running I Found You at her home track in Sydney. The filly has drawn wide barriers at both venues, with Tyler Schiller booked to ride her at Randwick and Blake Shinn in Melbourne.
Impact on the Filly’s Future
Snowden’s decision will have a significant impact on the filly’s immediate future, as her performance on Saturday will determine whether she is given a short break or a lengthier spell before targeting the spring carnival. With her strong pedigree and impressive debut, I Found You is certainly a horse to watch in the upcoming season.
