HORSE RACING NEWS: WILLIAMSTWON DANCER AND YANTARNI TIPPED FOR SUCCESS

Timeform, June 20th, 2024 – Timeform analysts have identified two horses worth monitoring at the upcoming race meetings in Leopardstown and Lingfield this evening.

Leopardstown’s 8:20 PM Race

At Leopardstown’s 8:20 PM race, the focus is on WILLIAMSTWON DANCER, trained by the prolific Willie Mullins. The yard has enjoyed considerable success in this 1m7f maiden in recent years, winning two of the last four renewals – a testament to the quality of stayers in Mullins’ stable. Williamstowndancer, ridden by Patrick Mullins, who boasts an excellent 48% strike-rate when taking a single ride at a Flat meeting, won a 2m Grade 3 novice hurdle last autumn and is expected to make a smooth transition to the Flat. The quick ground may play more to Williamstowndancer’s strengths compared to stablemate Pink In The Park, making the former the preferred selection.

Lingfield’s 8:30 PM Race

Over at Lingfield’s 8:30 PM race, YANTARNI is the horse to watch. A couple of course winners feature in the field, but Yantarni has built on the promise of his previous starts this season, scoring in good style over the same course and distance 19 days ago. Refitted with cheekpieces after a run at Yarmouth without the headgear, Yantarni was well-backed and won as expected at the start of the month. Remaining well-treated on old form, having won off a 3lb higher mark on Newmarket’s July Course in August 2022, Yantarni can strike again, with Sir Oliver posing the main threat.
