Rescheduled Black-Type Events at Horseshoe Indianapolis
(Horseshoe Indianapolis, July 7th)
Exciting news for horse racing enthusiasts! The $150,000 Caesars and the $150,000 Horseshoe Indianapolis, both prestigious black-type events, have been rescheduled to take place on Saturday, July 13th at Horseshoe Indianapolis.
These two premier turf races in Indiana have become annual highlights, attracting top entrants from across North America. “Unfortunately, we had to postpone Caesars Day in mid-May due to torrential weather, which included over four inches of rain the evening before and forced us to cancel our racing program,” explained Eric Halstrom, the vice president and general manager of racing. “But we did not want to completely bypass both The Caesars and The Horseshoe Indianapolis.”
Halstrom continued, “Those races have become a staple on our schedule each season. It just took our racing office staff, led by Chris Polzin (director-of racing), a little time to find the best fit among other turf events offered in the Midwest. We think we’ve found a great spot for both races on Saturday, July 13.”
The $150,000 Caesars will be run at one mile over the turf course for 3-year-olds, while the $150,000 Horseshoe Indianapolis, its counterpart, offers the same distance for 3-year-old fillies. The Caesars event first began during the inaugural season of racing in 2003 and is entering its 19th running, while the Horseshoe Indianapolis, which started in 2009, will be held for the 16th time.
Horse racing enthusiasts and bettors are eagerly anticipating the upcoming races at Horseshoe Indianapolis on July 13th. Be sure to visit the track’s website for the latest entries and results as these prestigious black-type events unfold.
