Señor Buscador, Winner of the Prestigious Saudi Cup, Prepares for Next Challenge

Señor Buscador, the impressive winner of the Group 1 Saudi Cup in February, has returned to the workouts in preparation for his next big race. The 6-year-old son of Mineshaft, trained by Todd Fincher, worked three furlongs at the San Luis Rey Training Center on Wednesday, covering the distance in a brisk 36.4 seconds, which was the fifth fastest of 10 works at that distance.

This was Señor Buscador’s second work since finishing third in the prestigious Dubai World Cup (G1) back in March. In his previous work on May 30, he covered three furlongs in 39.0 seconds, also at San Luis Rey.

Señor Buscador, a Grade 2 winner in the 2023 San Diego Handicap, is one of the top contenders in the older dirt horse division. His connections will be closely monitoring his progress as they map out his next steps on the road to the Breeders’ Cup and potentially more championship glory.
