Simmering Shines on the Track: Top Juvenile Filly Eyes Prix Marcel Boussac and Breeders’ Cup

Ollie Sangster’s star juvenile filly Simmering is making waves in the horse racing world, with a return to France and a potential trip to the Breeders’ Cup being considered for the talented young racehorse.

The daughter of Too Darn Hot has already proven her versatility, finishing third on debut at York before securing an impressive runner-up finish in the prestigious Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot. She has since followed up with a big-race double, winning Ascot’s Princess Margaret Stakes and the Prix du Calvados at Deauville.

Simmering’s most recent success in Deauville has shown that she is capable of handling softer ground conditions, making the Prix Marcel Boussac on Arc weekend at ParisLongchamp an attractive option for the filly. According to Alison Begley, racing manager for owners Al Shaqab Racing, the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf is also a potential end-of-season target for the talented young horse.

“It’s under discussion where we go next. The Breeders’ Cup is probably the end-of-season target, so it’s really a question of whether we give her another run before that or keep her fresh for then,” said Begley.

Jockey Ryan Moore, who rode Simmering at Ascot, believes the Breeders’ Cup could be a good option for the filly, and the fact that she won on softer ground in Deauville has opened up additional possibilities for her connections.

“The Prix Marcel Boussac is an option, as obviously that meeting is important to Sheikh Joaan with the Qatar sponsorship, so they’d probably be the two targets we’re looking at,” Begley added.

As the racing world eagerly awaits Simmering’s next move, horse racing enthusiasts can look forward to witnessing the further development of this promising young star.
