Newmarket Recap: Tabiti Shines for Juddmonte in Impressive Debut
Newmarket, [Current Date] – In the thrilling action at Newmarket’s latest meeting, Juddmonte Farms unveiled an exciting new prospect in the form of Tabiti, a promising filly by leading sire Kingman.
Sent off as the well-backed 9-5 favorite in the Tattersalls Online £40,000 EBF ‘Newcomers’ Maiden Fillies’ Stakes, the Ralph Beckett-trained Tabiti, under the guidance of jockey Rossa Ryan, put in a dominant display. Tracking the pace early on, the filly cruised clear in the final furlongs to defeat her stablemate Zanzoun, trained by the Gosden duo, by an impressive three-and-a-quarter-length margin.
“She’s a lovely filly and relaxed really well in front. When the other Juddmonte filly came to me, she quickened and just got a bit lonely in front in the end. I was able to wind it up from three and a half furlongs out as much as I wanted to, and I was very pleased when she quickened and put it to bed quickly. She’s ticked every box so far at home and here today, and she can only improve with time and age.”

In the JenningsBet Newmarket Nursery Handicap, there was a thrilling finish as Tom Dascombe’s Pappa Louis (2/1) held off the fast-finishing Jet Packer, trained by Richard Hannon, by a short head to secure his first career victory. Dascombe, pleased with the two-year-old’s improved form since being gelded, noted:
“He’s been a bit of a tricky customer, but not in a bad way. I thought he was very good today, and he will be a lovely three-year-old, but he just needs to grow up and not be such a softy.”
The action at Newmarket once again showcased the depth of talent within the sport, with Juddmonte’s promising young filly Tabiti and the determined victory of Pappa Louis providing plenty of excitement for racing enthusiasts. As the season progresses, all eyes will be on these rising stars and their future endeavors on the track.
