Prominent Trainer Chad Brown Continues to Dominate Horse Racing Landscape
Renowned horse trainer Chad Brown has cemented his status as one of the most influential figures in the sport of horse racing. After cutting his teeth as an assistant to the legendary Bobby Frankel, Brown launched his own training operation at the end of 2007 and has since embarked on a meteoric rise to the top.
In less than two decades, the 44-year-old Brown has amassed over 2,600 wins and nearly $286 million in purse earnings, solidifying his place among the elite trainers in the United States. His prowess has been recognized with four Eclipse Awards for Outstanding Trainer, and he has saddled 18 Breeders’ Cup winners.
Brown’s expertise lies primarily in conditioning turf route horses, particularly fillies and mares. In recent years, he has dominated the graded stakes races for this division, with stars such as Lady Eli, Sistercharlie, Rushing Fall, Uni, Newspaperofrecord, Stephanie’s Kitten, and In Italian gracing his barn. However, the versatile Brown has also proven his ability to train top-class dirt horses, as evidenced by the success of horses like Good Magic, Early Voting, Cloud Computing, and Goodnight Olive.

The Belmont Stakes, however, has been a bit more challenging for the Mechanicville, New York native, with only one of his three starters hitting the board, a clear second-place finish with Gronkowski in 2018.
As the 2024 Belmont Stakes approaches, Brown will be looking to add the final jewel of the Triple Crown to his impressive resume. He will be represented in the historic race by the morning-line favorite, Sierra Leone, who narrowly missed winning the Kentucky Derby and is poised to make a strong bid for Belmont glory.
