Trainer Richard Fahey Looks Ahead to Big Targets
In an exclusive interview, renowned horse racing trainer Richard Fahey shares his insights on his stable’s recent performances at York, as well as a preview of his runners at the upcoming race meetings in Beverley and Chester this Saturday.
Reflecting on York
Reflecting on the successful week at York, Fahey expressed satisfaction with his horses’ performances, stating, > “They’ve run as good as they are, which is all you can really ask. It was competitive racing, fantastic racing, and a great week.”
The trainer was particularly pleased with Yes I’m Mali’s victory in the nursery race, as well as the strong second-place finish by Strike Red in the Sky Bet Constantine Handicap.
Looking Ahead to Beverley and Chester
Looking ahead to Saturday’s action, Fahey discussed his runners at the two racecourses:
- At Beverley, Show Me Show Me makes his return after some “niggly problems” earlier in the year, while Classy Clarets, who has been impressive at home, looks to translate that form onto the track.
- Over at Chester, Reidh, drawn in the outside stall, will need to step up his game, while Garfield Shadow, a dual winner at the course this season, looks to continue his strong run of form.
Other Notable Horses
Fahey also provided updates on some of his stable’s other notable horses:
- Powerful Glory, a promising prospect, is being pointed towards the Group 2 Dubai Duty Free Mill Reef Stakes at Newbury later this month.
- The owner-trained Marine Wave could target a Fillies’ Listed race at the upcoming Ayr Western Meeting.
With a mix of promising newcomers and proven performers, the Fahey stable is certainly one to watch as the flat racing season enters its final stretch. Fans of horse racing will be eagerly anticipating the developments from this talented trainer’s yard in the coming weeks and months.
